Welcome to the tutorial. The tutorial will show you how to interact with the OCEBIS web application, also known as Maps, which is available at https://ocebis.org.

Introduction

In the OCEBIS web application, which will be referred to as app, you can display three types of layers, which are available in Settings panel in the left menu:

  • Geology layers: Layers which consist of general geology attributes such as topography or sediments.
  • Layers of area: Layers which are generated for a particular area based on underlying attributes of the area.
  • Connectivity layers: Layers which show the transport probability based on a point of origin.

You can interact with the displayed layers by configuring the Toolbox panel in the left menu:

  • Select: Option to select a geometry object.
  • Point: Geometry object characterised by the coordinate: [lon1, lat1].
  • Single line: Geometry object characterised by start coordinate: [lon1, lat1] and end coordinate: [lon2, lat2], with a line in-between.
  • Box: Geometry object characterised by its rectangle shape with corner coordinates: [lon1, lat1], [lon2, lat2], [lon3, lat3] and [lon4, lat4].
